NIGHT EIGHT
BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN
WEDNESDAY 25th JANUARY
LONDON, ENGLAND
The show opened to the usual introductions, as a montage of the superstars entering the arena one by one earlier in the night played out on the screen. The commentators filled everyone in on a few rumours flying around - would Lola Dane be here? Was it true about Kaya Parker taking a short break from the ring? What was Preston Edwards announcement? No doubt all of these questions would be answered in due course.
Preston Edwards came out with a mic. He said he had a big announcement for Night Ten that concerned everybody on the roster. It would be a bumper card with seven matches.. a one night tournament of trios! Eight teams each made up of three wrestlers each would do battle. The three members of the winning team would each receive a shot at one of the MPW titles, at his discretion. Naturally, the current champions would be involved so it would depend who wins as to which belts they get a shot at and he woud reveal their fate the following week. The teams and matches would be announced gradually over the coming weeks, but as a teaser he announced the first trio of Jessi Ozborne, Alexander Sokolov and Till Schlotterbeck. ‘Good luck to whoever faces those three!’ He said.
After the match Krystal and Cassie had a fairly heated discussion but left the ring together with no hard feelings.
The Dollz got into the ring thereafter and asked 'why were they wasting everybody's time'. 'Let’s give the fans what they want and stop dancing round one another - the Deatheriders versus the Reckless Dollz for the Tag Team Titles.' Lilith paused but then agreed on one condition. She said she wanted nothing more than to face the Dollz, it was long overdue and would cement their legacy as champions when they won, but that match needed to be with Kaya. However, it was they who held the cards, and it was only right that they gave her something in return.. so next week, she proposed a one on one match; Rowen versus Lilith for the Television Title. The fans cheered, and the Dollz discussed it momentarily before agreeing. 'Don't keep us waiting' were their final words before exiting the ring.
BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN

PRE-SHOW
'BIG BEN' Phillips w/ Journeyman Phillips v David Jackson
‘Big Ben’ wasted no time in squashing the inferior David Jackson. It was over before it began as Ben lifted him in the air, tossed him across into the turnbuckle and followed up with a big splash before a crushing three count.
WINNER: 'BIG BEN' Phillips

TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
Rowen (c) v Kelly Kash
A big test for Rowen as she looked to make second successful defence of the Television Title. She was under the cosh early on as Kash came out all guns blazing and determined to upset the odds. The crowd were on her side as she turned it into an all out brawl, but Rowen got a stronghold on the match later on. As the tides began to turn she looked more and more in control and saw out the match with her (Misery Business) Stunner for the win.
WINNER: Rowen (Still MPW Television Champion)

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Jvstice Hardy v Till Schlotterbeck v Anthony Cross
An exciting contest was up next, as the three men could barely contain themselves to get stuck into one another. Cross looked the most impressive early on, his experience coming through as he looked the more composed and calculated. Hardy’s energy and athleticism were hard to contend with though, and despite taking an early two on one beating Till was resilient and near impossible to break. While it looked like nobody would break, fatigue began to wear in and a Fireman’s carry into a cutter from Hardy onto Cross was followed by a Penalty Kick from Till on both as a dazed Cross was unable to recover.
WINNER: Till Schlotterbeck

TAG TEAM MATCH
Lil' Blanco Tigre & Lola Dane v Cassie Wolfe & Krystal Wolfe
With all the women in the ring Lil Blanco took to the mic to announce that her partner, Lola Dane, couldn’t be with them tonight. But she was happy to announce a more than adequate replacement had flown in last minute. Azurine Vebbins then came out to a massive cheer as the match got underway. The momentum of Vebbins’ arrival gave them an early advantage but the chemistry of the cousins soon reversed things as they began making slick tags. Cassie looked to have taken her cousin’s advice and didn’t let any of her recent emotions get in the way to begin with but her hubris got the better of her in the end. Having reversed a big move from Blanco she looked over at her cousin who was desperate for the tag. Blanco was in need of a tag herself, both women tired from a long dual but while Vebbins got the hand, Krystal did not. Cassie had chosen to battle on herself. A rejuvenated Azurine came flying at Cassie who thought she could win it on her own but she soon found herself staring at the lights after a Sweetheart Sock Hop - Two knees into the sternum, followed by a Superkick into a Pulled-In DDT.
WINNERS: Lil' Blanco Tigre & Azurine Vebbins

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Deathriders (c) v Jessica Carter & Avery Smith
Pre-match the Reckless Dollz came out to sit on comms to get a close up view of the tag team champions. The Smith Sisters were unusually popular here, and seemed more convinced than most that this was their big moment. The Dollz didn't really give them much time, and while dismissive of the Deathriders, at least acknowledged this 'should' be an easy defence. Lilith came out alone, much to the surprise of the fans, with a mic in hand and both Tag Team Titles. She said that unfortunately Kaya couldn't make it, as she'd been advised to take a temporary break from action. The Smith Sister's looked confused, but Lilith ensured them a title match would still take place, and that she was willing to take on the Smith Sister's Handicap Challenge in doing so, holding both belts up in the air to prove her point. Carter and Smith couldn't believe their luck and beckoned her to the ring. The Dollz were less confident now about getting a chance to face them but they didn't mind taking the belts off the Smith Sisters instead - a win was a win. However, things didn't quite to plan as the bell rang and they began arguing over who should start the match. Lilith took full advantage and drop kicked Avery over the ropes before squashing Jess in less than 30 seconds to retain the titles with little difficulty.
WINNERS: Lilith Parker/The Deathriders (Still MPW Tag Team Champions)

MAIN EVENT
MELEE TITLE MATCH
Alexander Sokolov (c) v Hijo de la Muerta
The match started with Hijo taking it straight to Sokolov. He knew this would be an all out war and he seemed ready for it. Sokolov relished this new approach, nodding in respect but was fully focused on righting the wrongs of their last outing. It was clear from the off he wanted to make Hijo uncomfortable as he kept the fight low on the ground where possible. But what Hijo lacked in submission he was more than adept at countering and finding a way out of whatever was thrown his way.
He knew there was only one way to get his hands on the belt and that was to knockout his opponent out cold. He scoped around the outside of the ring for chairs and tables and whatever he could use to his advantage. A moonsault through the table was enough to leave Sokolov dazed and confused but the mad Russian always got back to his feet.
Hijo though kept on battling away, but Sokolovs resilience and penchant for the street fight was enough to see him come through with a maiden defence of the title. A Curb Stomp on a steel chair, followed by a Shibata Style Headbutt and Hijo didn't recover, the Referee declaring it over.
After the match Sokolov took to the mic and raised his belt in the air. 'I am Melee Champion now', he said. 'I fight with honour. I fight with pride and I will bathe in the blood of my enemies.' He looked down at Hijo, practically motionless after a close fight. 'I let you beat me once, boy. But never again. This time you live to tell the tale, next time not so lucky.' as the night came to a close.
WINNER: Alexander Sokolov (Still MPW Melee Champion)
