Firstly, congratulations to our first ever champions, Cassie Wolfe, and Kaya and Lilith Parker.
Cassie overcame a ten-strong field to become the inaugural MPW Television Champion at Night 2. No mean feat. Winning the Television Title in MPW will never be easy if truth be told, and defending it will be even harder. Because form here on out this belt will be contested each and every week via an open invitation. What does that mean? Well, whoever turns up at the beginning of the match will have the opportunity to fight for the championship. One pinfall, inside the ring, no disqualifications, no count outs. Now that could be one person, two persons, or the entire roster. Each week will no doubt attract different opposition, and champions will need to be ready for all possible challengers. Just bare in mind, any wrestler that steps up should possibly be prepared to be booked twice in the same night.
Sisters Kaya and Lilith Parker (the Deathriders) defeated the Watanabe Rangers to claim the Tag Team Titles at Night 1, and become the first EVER MPW champions of any kind in doing so. Plans are being drawn up over the coming weeks to determine who their first defence will be against, but in the meantime our booking team are on the lookout for additional talent to bolster this division. MPW has extended the invitation to friends, family, guests of all kinds to appear at our shows on a part time basis in Tag Team competition only. So watch this space moving forward.
As previously announced, the inaugural British Heavyweight Champion will be crowned via a round robin tournament. I’m happy to announce that the draw has been made and the first series of matches will take place at Nights Four and Five. These match ups, and the entire tournament bracket can be seen below. May be the best competitor win!
Finally, I have sent plans this week to our goldsmiths in North London to commission a third singles title here in MPW. The name and stipulations for this championship is still being discussed, with many options on the table right now. But expect further news in the run up to New Year.
