NIGHT TWO
TRIAL BY TELEVISION
WEDNESDAY 30TH NOVEMBER
LONDON, ENGLAND
The show got underway with the usual run down of the night's events, as the cameras panned around to show a packed out arena. Cans of Carling and Special Brew littered the floor and there were more England shirts on display than the previous week, World Cup fever well and truly spilling over into the pro wrestling fanbase. Things got straight underway as the Queens of Chaos came out to a chorus of abuse. The newly crowned Tag Team champions, Kayla and Lilith Parker, led by their leader, Jessi Ozborne casually made their way towards the ring. Jessi had a microphone in hand and began by leading tributes for her allies' big win last week, knowing full well it would annoy the fans. She then proceeded to predict how tonight's main event would play out, ending with one of them securing further gold to their growing collection. Her speech was then interrupted by Cassie Wolfe, much to the fans delight. Cassie had other ideas about the Main Event, and reminded Jessi that last week she beat her in a triple threat, and that tonight will go the same way. Jessi denied losing, as she didn't get pinned, and said she left the ring after getting bored with her opponents anyway. She said tonight was going to be different, and that the Queens of Chaos would personally see to it that she was the first to be picked off. Next out came the Watanabe Rangers. The Deathriders saw this as an opportunity to show off their titles, gloating over last week's win. Yui said that while they were the friendliest team in professional wrestling, tonight was not about making friends. Tonight was about making allegiances, where necessary, to ensure they got the win. She said if need be they will be side by side with Cassie to ensure the Queens are nowhere that title. That way a fair fight between the rest of the wrestlers could take place, at the end of which, either her or her sister would reign supreme. Betty Yung then came out the ring, to stake her own claim. She said she couldn't help but overhear all this 'big talk' from the backstage area, and wanted to size up her smaller, inexperienced opponents. She said tonight would come down to endurance and experience, and she didn't see anyone in this fight that could match her on those fronts. Following this Sylvie Thorn came out to a big cheer. She was quick to remind Betty that her so called 'experience' didn't help her last week, and that her debut win proved that she was the one to beat, and the one who would be crowned first Televison champion. Taylor Evans was out next, and stood on the entrance ramp trash talking all the women in the ring one by one, including the absent Daphne Martini. But Martini wasn't absent for long, and soon emerged from the backstage area to attack her from behind. The two women brawled all the way down to the ring and an all out melee ensued between the ten women as MPW officials quickly ascended to break things up. The crowd were on their feet at a sign of things to come, as tempers flared and tensions rose before the night had even got underway.
Anthony Cross was backstage with MPW interviewer, Juno Jevons. He was still annoyed at what went down last week, and was looking forward to getting revenge on Louis Phillips. He said after Louis he would seek out Albert Campbell, and then Journeyman himself. He said people should saviour Louis' performance tonight, because it will be the last time they see him in a MPW ring. Connor Phillips then came into the picture. Cross immediately sized him up, still sceptical of the British grappler. Phillips said there was no way Cross would be able to go out there and beat Louis tonight, not in a fair fight anyway. This angered Cross but Connor was quick to explain that his Father and his brother were cowards, and they would not allow Cross a one on one match. If they did, Louis would be no match for The Enforcer. He knew them better than anyone, and he knew what Cross was walking into. He said there was only one way he would be able to get his hands on Louis without the others getting involved. He needed someone to have his back. He thanked Cross for not backing down last week when Connor was attacked, and extended his hand to return the favour. Cross reluctantly shook it. Connor said he would be at ringside tonight, whether Cross wanted him to be or not.
We cut backstage to the special locker room of The Queens of Chaos. There we see Jessi Ozborne, along with the inaugural MPW Tag Team Champions, Kaya and Lilith Parker. The three are preparing for their match later on in the night, with Kaya and Lilith limbering up as Jessi takes to laying into the heavy bag with a set of measured punches and kicks! Just then, there’s a knock at the door, with Juno Jevons walking into the room, a microphone in hand.
Juno: Ladies, sorry to interrupt you three as you prepare for your match tonight. I just wanted to get a few words from you three.
Jessi turns to Juno, seemingly not in the mood for her at this time, but still deciding to entertain her.
Jessi Ozborne: Alright fuck it. Make it quick, we don’t have all night.
Juno: Last week, you guys talked about what you could expect coming into Modern Pro Wrestling. Now that you’ve gotten a sense of how things work here, how are you three adjusting to things in MPW?
Jessi Ozborne: Juno, it’s been great so far. I mean, two weeks in and we’ve already got our own locker room. The Tag Team Championships are in our camp where they belong, and we’ve already got an opportunity to make even more of an impact by going in and taking the Television Championship home with us as well!
Kaya nods as she listens to Jessi talk. She then pulls her tag team title up on her shoulder looking at Juno.
Kaya Parker: Last week we showed the Rangers what it means to face the Queens. And we brought home the tag team championships. Tonight though, it's everyone for themselves, but we can work together. 10 people go in, 1 person comes out with the TV title and that will be one of the Queens.
Lilith then motions for her sister to back up as she looks at Juno. She held up her tag title then placed it back on her shoulder.
Lilith Parker: Every man for themselves, tonight. That's the game being played here, bringing the TV title back into the fold of the Queens. Then we will get back to the Rangers maybe if they become worthy of us. Then show that we are the top of the division and no one will take it from us.
Jessi Ozborne: See unlike others, we are a unit. While the rest of the field is busy tearing each other apart, we’ll be working together to do the exact same thing. Then, if it comes down to the three of us, and it will, may the best woman win. We’re just as used to fighting against each other as we are to fighting alongside each other. That, mon cheri, is the beauty of The Queens.
Juno: That’s a pretty sound strategy. You guys seem to have your gameplan on lock.
Jessi Ozborne: Of course we do, hun.
Juno: Well, I just wanted to ask a question directly to you, Ms. Ozborne. Last week, you failed to win a Triple Threat match involving Cassie Wolfe and Daphne Martini. A lot has been made of the nature in which you gave up on the match. Can you give some more insight into what you were thinking that night?
Jessi looks a bit annoyed as she answers.
Jessi Ozborne: Simple. That Triple Threat wasn’t worthy of me. Cassie Wolfe can hang her hat on her little victory as much as she wants, but the fact is that while I didn’t win, I didn’t lose either. My only priority right this second is making it to the top of MPW. Little throwaway bouts where I gotta wrestle at the kiddie table won’t get me there. I would know, better than both Cassie and Daphne, because of the three of us, I’m the only one that’s ever been a singles champion.
Kaya looks at Lilith and nods. They go on either side of Juno and escort them to their door.
Kaya Parker: So nice of you to drop by but you need to leave.
The two push them through the door as the scene fades out.
Backstage Juno Jevons was interviewing legendary women’s wrestler, Patti Rose. Patti said she was in town for a short while and had come by to see the show and lend her support. Asked if we would ever see her in the MPW ring she said never say never. The conversation was then interrupted by new MPW superstar, Vanessa Reckless. There was an audible cry of boos from the crowd in the background as she came into shot. She was quick to insult Patti’s ‘ugly mullet’ and told her to stop hogging the limelight. ‘Run along to the retirement home’ were her exact words, as she pushed in front to start her own interview. Patti didn’t take kindly to her words, and pulled her back as the two squared up to one another. Patti said there might be something, or someone, that gets her into the MPW ring after all as we cut back to ringside for the main event.
TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
No disqualifications, no count outs, one pinfall inside the ring to crown the inaugural champion.
Betty Yung v Lilith Parker v Daphne Martini v Jessi Ozborne v Sylvie Thorn v Kaya Parker v Cassie Wolfe v Yui Watanabe v Yua Watanabe v Taylor Evans
All ten women made their way out to the ring one by one, bar the Queens who made a point to show their solidarity and strength in numbers. As soon as the bell rang everyone paired off with their various adversaries, but it was hard to keep up as things to-and-froed between them all. Betty Yung was hell bent on getting as many people out the ring as possible, to give herself the best chance of making a winning pin, while the likes of Martini and Thorn tried wering their opponents down with the ahtleticism. The Queens of Chaos made as many pinfalls as possible to try and get the job done, but the Watanabe’s were quick to break them every time. Cassie Wolfe and Taylor Evans started brawling on the outside, decimating the ringside steps and apparatus. Martini soon joined them, and took great pleasure pouring a near by fan's beer over Evans, as the crowd cheered at ringside. The Watanabe Rangers found themselves two on one with Ozborne, who fought them off for some time but eventually succumbed to a clever double team. They both tried to pin her at the same time, resulting in a short-lived argument between the pair, allowing Jessi to recover and clothesline them both out the ring. She was then attacked from behind by her own ally in Lilith, who went for the pin, but was broken by Sylvie Thorn. Sylvie locked on the Roses Thorn (Octopus Hold) and Lilith looked ready to break but Kaya came to her rescue with a boot to Thorn’s face. She locked on her own submission finisher, Parker's Web (Bridging cross-legged Boston crab) to try and secure the win but Thorn wasn’t giving up easily. Just when it looked like the match might be won Daphne Martini swooped in with a Moonwalk DDT to Parker. She ascended the ropes for a Shooting Star Press but was pushed off the top turnbuckle by a re-energised Taylor Evans. Evans was ready to seize the moment with her Sugar Crush (Inverted Leg Drop Bulldog) but the pin was broken at the last second by Betty Yung. Yung was in control now, nobody around to stop her from clinching the title as she hoisted Evans up for the Ratings Spike!! This was it, game over, but out of nowhere came Cassie Wolfe, off the top rope. Betty was down on the ground to make the pin.. Cassie leapt across the ring with The Coronation (Corkscrew 630 Splash)!! She made the cover as quickly as she could. Jessi Ozborne was on her feet and had time to prevent it, Cassie's leg was within reach to pull her off but Daphne Martini wasn't quite so aware of the situation and speared her to the ground, stopping her from doing so.
Winner: Cassie Wolfe (New Television Champion)
Jessi was furious, as she looked up at the ring to see Cassie awarded the belt. The Deathriders saw her trading blows on the outside of the ring with Martini and came to her aid, soon followed by the Watanabes and everyone else involved. Chaos continued around the ring as an exhausted Wolfe fell to her knees in celebration, her music blaring as the show came to a close.

Albert Campbell v Rey Jaguar
Rey Jaguar was warmly received following his impressive display last week, and he picked up where he left off with some impressive holds and classic British wrestling catches. But Campbell held his own throughout, urged on at ringside by his mentor Journeyman Phillips. The finish came around the ten minute mark following Campbell's Legacy Driver (Stunner). Phillips entered the ring and raised his hand in the air to antagonise the fans, as a forlorn Jaguar rolled under the ropes and back up the entrance ramp.

Alexander Sokolov v David Jackson
Before the match got underway the commentaors presented a guest that was sat beside them in Hijo de la Muerta. He was welcomed to MPW, having signed with the company in the last few days. The courteous Hijo said he was excited to be here, and was looking forward to seeing the rest of the show. Asked about the upcoming match, he said he had seen Sokolov last week, and he was had to like. He said he had come from a background where you should respect other wrestler's, and sport of wrestling. Sokolov was clearly not a man who shared these values. Sokolov then entered the ring and sized up the veteran David Jackson. Unlike Tobias Bennett last week, Jackson didn’t look intimidated and proceeded to trash talk the Russian as they came face to face. It wasn’t clear what was said but it was enough for Sokolov to lose his temper. Without hesitation he grabbed the unsuspecting Jackson in a belly to belly suplex and tossed him across the ring. The bell rang and Sokolov set about punishing his opponent. A curb stomp (aptly named Shut the Fuck Up) and a Burning Lariat later it was all over. Jackson didn’t know where he was, as Sokolov looked down at his victim and around the arena at the fans, urging anyone to step up and challenge him.

Anthony Cross v Louis Phillips
Phillips came out first, flanked by Campell and his Father. Journeyman gave him a little pep talk but Phillips didn’t seem to the listening, shrugging off his Fathers advice. Cross came out and once he stepped into the ring Phillips Jr didn’t look as cock sure. Cross waited patiently for the bell to ring, which was delayed further by Connor Phillips entrance. He sat down at the commentary table and reiterated his reasons for being at ringside as the match got underway. Cross was too powerful in the early stages and appeared to be making light work of the smaller Phillips. It was only when Journeyman tripped him up from underneath the ropes that Louis got any offence in. This got Connor to his feet, as Albert Campbell prepared himself for a battle. Louis continued wearing down Cross but just as he was going for a big aerial move, Cross had a second wind and launched him off the top turnbuckle. Journeyman climbed up on top of the ring apron to protest, at seemingly nothing, allowing Campbell to climb up himself on the other side without the Referee noticing. He made a b-line for the weary Cross but Connor was quick to it and speared the unsuspecting Campbell out of nowhere, as the two wrestled onto the outside. Both competitors climbed to their feet and Louis was first to attack, but Cross had more left in the tank and hit a huge DDT for the win. He pointed at Journeyman to say this was just the beginning. He went back in to inflict more punishment, but Phillips Sr pulled his son out of the ring just in time.
