NIGHT ONE
THE WELCOME PARTY
WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER
LONDON, ENGLAND
We open up the very first event to a cold opening, as Kaya and Lilith Parker are seen stood outside of Buckingham Palace. The two sisters had arrived early to watch the changing of the guard. It had been a while since they had done so together. As they were doing this, they were tapped on the shoulder. Kaya turned around to see Jessi Ozborne was coming to join them, a cameraman following her. Kaya looked a bit disgusted with him, as she motions for Lil to turn around to notice him as well.
Lilith Parker: And I was having such a good morning too. Don't you find it fitting that the three of us are here where the Queen lived for a long time?
Jessi proceeds to tilt her sunglasses at the sight of everything, before answering Lil.
Jessi Ozborne: Quite fitting that Modern Pro Wrestling decided to set up shop in a country like this. A place where royalty is respected over all else. It’s almost like this company was made for us to dominate.
Lil nodded as she looked at Jessi. Kaya continued to watch the proceedings as she spoke.
Kaya Parker: Everywhere we've gone the last few months, there have been new challenges, new people to dominate. London, Modern Pro Wrestling, will too learn that the Queens are not just a force, we are the bar when it comes to the sport.
Kaya turns around, pulling a black Rose out of her jacket and handing it to Jessi.
Jessi Ozborne: Oh…how rude of us not to introduce ourselves. We…are The Queens of Chaos, But if you even had average knowledge of the business, you’d have already known that. See, everywhere we go, our name starts off as being…disrespected. Laughed at by the ignorant and hubristically brave. But time and again, as we make our mark in those places, that disrespect turns to fear. I have no doubt that Modern Pro Wrestling will receive us the same way, which is why it’s great that we have a golden opportunity to establish our dominance right away. To cut out the middle man, and make sure the entire roster comes correct within our first outing.
Jessi looks to Kaya and Lil, the two knowing full well what she’s referring to. Kaya and Lilith put their sunglasses back on as they looked at the camera.
Lilith Parker: Tonight, Watanabe Rangers, you and the rest of the tag division will learn that it's a simple equation. That when the Queens come in, we take and conquer all, then you can only watch as we rule.
Kaya Parker: Watanabe Rangers, this rose is for you. It shows a new beginning and a dark end. The tag division is on notice, you two have had your chance, no mercy is coming. The tag titles come home tonight!
Jessi Ozborne: And then, once I dispose of the airheaded party girl and the little uppity Aussie that could, I will come one step closer to becoming MPW’s inaugural British Heavyweight Champion. The golden prophecy will continue right here, because when it comes down to it, ruling over the industry is our destiny. You’re. Fucking. Welcome.
The two wave off the cameraman as they motion Jessi to come over and join them.
We then cut to the main arena where the crowd had filed in nicely for the first Modern Pro Wrestling show. A few local unsigned talents were wetting their appetite on the pre-show and the commentary team were giving a run down of the night's events. Without further adieu, the action was underway as the competitors came out and the MPW Tag Titles were paraded for the fans.
Post match the Queens of Chaos were all in the ring together, as Jessi Ozborne raised her allies' arms aloft in celebration as the belts were lifted high into the air. She grabbed a microphone from the officials and addressed the crowd as Kaya and Lilith grabbed their beaten opponents by the hair. She said this win was merely a sign of things to come. Together they would rule over MPW and dominate every man and woman that dare to stand in their way. Nobody was in their league and they were sending a message early. She then proceeded to pick up one of the belts and slam them into the face of Yui and Yua, before they all exited the ring in celebration.
Preston Edwards, the MPW GM, was out next to thank the fans in attendance and those watching online. Edwards says this will be one of the few times he will be out to address the crowd, because the show isn't about him. It's about the wrestlers. He said the locker room is stacked with talent and reiterated the points he raised in his open letter last week. Edwards said his goal is to become one of the most exciting and innovative companies in professional wrestling, and that if everyone in the locker room shares that same vision, they'll go far in MPW. He finished by saying the referee's decision would always be final, and he would not overrule any outcome regardless of what may have occurred in the match.
'The Day is My Enemy' by The Prodigy hit the speakers as legendary British wrestler Journeyman Phillips came out onto the entrance ramp to a mixed reception from the crowd. He was flanked on either side by two young men and entered the ring with a mic already in hand. He said it was great to see British wrestling making a comeback, and he was happy to announce that he was here to be a part of it. However, he would be stepping aside, by and large, and making way for the future. He then introduced the two men stood by his side. Albert Campbell, his godson, and Louis Phillips, his youngest and loyal son. With that 'List of Demands' by Saul Williams hit the speakers and out stepped Journeyman's other son, Connor Phillips. Connor had a mic in hand and welcomed his relatives to MPW. He said he knew it was only a matter of time before his Father graced us with his presence and that he hoped he was here to celebrate the institution of British wrestling, as opposed to massaging his own ego. Journeyman retorted that he was here to mentor his family, and that if he wanted that could include Connor too. He acknowledged they had not always seen eye to eye but he was happy to bury the hatchet if he was. Connor said it was difficult to forget that the last time they worked in the same company he orchestrated an attack on him, with Albert, and other wrestlers under his wing at the time. But he had let go of the past and did not wish to open old wounds. However he declined the offer and wished the three of them the best of luck in their time here in MPW. Journneyman finished by saying he respected Connor's decision, but if he was not with them, then unfortunately for him, that meant he was against them. Connor shrugged and left as the 3 men stared him down from the centre of the ring.
Anthony Cross was backstage briefly for a pre-match interview on his way to the ring. He played to the crowd a bit, saying how great it was to be wrestling in England, and main eventing against an excellent British wrestler. He said he understood if people got behind Phillips tonight, but fully expected them both to come out winners if it turned out to be the tough and exciting match he was expecting it to be. He finished though by saying he would be the one with hand raised aloft, and it would be a sign of things come in the forthcoming British Heavyweight Title tournament.

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
the Deathriders v The Watanabe Rangers
Kaya and Lilith Parker came out with their co-hort, Jessi Ozborne looking very self-assured. The Watanabe Rangers followed afterwards, full of excitement and energy, hyping up the crowd en route to the ring. They hugged their opponents beforehand, which was met with awkwardness and not reciprocated by the Deathriders. Things got underway and the opening stages were fast paced and frenetic, with neither side really getting the upper hand. Each time one looked to get on top it quickly swung back the other way. Yua and Yui finally got a good rhythm going, buoyed on by the crowd and a possible three count was interrupted by Ozborne pulling Yui off a beaten Kaya. The Referee leant over the ropes to issue a warning which was enough for Lilith to enter and regain control of the match. It was one way traffic from there on out as Lilith sealed the win with her Superknee Slingshot (Running bicycle knee) for the win.
WINNERS: the Deathriders (NEW MPW Tag Team Champions)

Rey Jaguar v David Jackson
The enigmatic Rey Jaguar was an instant favourite with the fans for his match with veteran David Jackson. His speed and agility were too much for the ageing Brit, as he bounced around the ring wowing the crowd throughout. Jackson tried a few old school tricks but Jaguar had done his research and foiled them every time, before putting the match to bed with the Jaguar Driver (Jumping Island Driver) and celebrating with the fans.

Alexander Sokolov v Tobias Bennett
Sokolov was every bit as menacing as his montages and screen shots, snarling at the out-stretched fans looking to get a high five or an autograph. Tobias Bennett, who was already waiting in the ring turned a whiter shade of pale as he entered the ropes and came face to face with the Russian wrestler. Bennett put out a trembling hand for a pre-match hand-shake but Sokolov had other ideas, barely waiting for the bell before driving his fist through the face of his unsuspecting opponent. Blood splattered across the ring from Bennett's nose followed by a Shibata Style Headbutt and Burning Lariat to finish the match in less than thirty seconds. Medics rushed to aid the helpless Bennett as Sokolov turned towards the nearest camera and threatened his future opponents in Russian.

Jessi Ozborne v Cassie Wolfe v Daphne Martini
Ozborne and Wolfe started the match on the front foot, double teaming Daphne onto the outside of the ring. They quickly turned on one another, like old foes reunited, much to the fans delight. Wolfe got the upperhand early doors, but lost momentum once Martini had pulled herself back into the ring. It went around in circles for some ten minutes, each wrestler looking very strong and self-assured for brief periods. It was Martini that made the break-through, laying out both girls with a jumping crescent kick but they weren't going down without a fight, and after a couple of close 3 counts, she was caught off guard by Ozborne from behind. She looked to have the match won herself but an emerging Wolfe was quick to prevent it, as Ozborne rolled out the ring clutching her head. She looked up at the ring to see Martini climbing to her feet only to be hit by a Greenest Wizard (Shining Wizard) from Cassie. Jessi turned and walked away, waving her hand in apathy and opting not to try and stop the subsequent 3 count, before sarcastically clapping her whilst walking backwards up the ramp. 'The Rebel Princess' beckoned her back into the ring but Ozborne was biting.

Betty Yung v Sylvie Thorn
Betty Yung dominated the early exchanges, showing her superior strength and experience against the younger Thorn. But Thorn was resilient if nothing else. She gradually worked her way back into the match but Yung never conceded for long, regaining momentum each time. Yung was looking very confident, validating her online claims that Thorn was not ready to face a wrestler of her abilities, but that was undone very quickly when Thorn reversed a standard suplex into an Octopus Stretch out of nowehere! She had looked dead and buried, but held on with everything she had left in the tank for what seemed like an eternity, Yung eventually submitting. She rolled out the ring as Thorn gathered her breath and had her arm raised in victory. She looked down at the beaten Yung who nodded her head in respect before leaving her to celebrate the win.

MAIN EVENT
Anthony Cross v Connor Phillips
Cross and Phillips both entered to big ovations and even shook hands before the match. There was no big stare down, no animosity, just two men looking to get a big early win here in MPW. Cross was the first to get a clear advantage, his size and strength proving too much for the much lighter Phillips. But Phillips was difficult to pin down, writhing out of various power moves and making life difficult for the usually more cerebral Cross. Both men seemed to be enjoying the battle, their differing styles gelling well as it ebbed back and forth. Cross regained control momentarily but was halted in his tracks as Journeyman Phillips, Louis Phillips and Albert Campbell walked out to the ring. Phillips had a microphone in hand and stepped in front of Cross, explaining that he should leave the ring if he knew what was best for him. This was not his battle and he did not need to be involved. Cross nodded approvingly and turned away to exit before turning back and flooring Phillips with a big right hand. He was immediately jumped by Campbell and Phillips Jr and tried to fight them off, but soon enough it was 3 on 1. Connor was back on his feet and began trading blows with Campbell, but the intense match had taken its toll and before long the two competitors were down on the canvas. Phillips and co surveyed their work as the crowd jeered around them. Their message well and truly delivered, as the show came to a close.
