Hello friends and welcome to Modern Pro Wrestling. My name is Preston Edwards and I'm the General Manager of this new and exciting independent British wrestling federation. I've been appointed to book the matches and manage the events week in week out on behalf of the owners, whom at this stage have opted to remain anonymous, even to myself.
These isles have a rich history in professional wrestling, and here at MPW we’ll be paying respect to those that paved the way before us, whilst carrying the torch into a new era of indendepence, freelance, and opportunity. Myself and the team are well underway in securing contracts with some of the best wrestlers around, not just from the UK but all across the world. And as our reputation grows we'll hopefully secure more household names along the way.
In the coming weeks we’ll be crowning our first Television and Tag Team champions, most likely across our first couple of events. Wrestler's want to be validated for their efforts and these belts needs to be around the waist of our superstars, for potential rivals and challengers to emerge and fight for them. After this we’ll commence a round robin tournament for the MPW British Heavyweight Title. The premier championship in any company should be reserved for the very best competitors in my eyes, and in a knockout tournament the cream will hopefully rise to the very top. In the end one of, if not the, best man or woman amongst our ranks will get that inaugural crown and be the number one . I don't know who that person will be but everyone we have currently signed, and those we're continuining to pursue or negotiate with are all capable of great things and for that reason I will guarentee everyone on the MPW payroll a spot in that tournament.
