What is Modern Pro Wrestling?
In a nutshell, MPW is an angled e-fed where handler participation and storylines drive all the results and bookings. Wins and losses come at the staff's discretion, and results come in a shortened, summarised format.
How will my character find success?
How you get involved is essentially your prerogative. However, like most angle Feds you’re encouraged to promote upcoming matches, and likewise react to any wins, losses and interactions. You’re welcome to submit segments, ideas, and even match writing, but this isn't required and you will be written into various storylines and angles regardless. So if you prefer to watch things unfold and feed off the results, you've come to the right place. Equally, if you want to be more hands on with your character's arc, and have some input into how things potentially play out, we can try and accommodate that too. Having an active Twitter account is essential. But the essence of what you tweet is more important.
What titles and divisions are there?
There are currently 5 championships/divisions..
British Heavyweight Title - The premier accolade in MPW. Defences are reserved for as and when there is deemed to be a suitable challenger.
The Melee Title - A secondary championship whereby all matches are decided via knockout or submission. Wrestlers cannot be disqualified and there no holds barred.
Junior Heavyweight Title - Another secondary belt. For any and all wrestlers 220 lbs or below.
Television Title - Essentially the tertiary title in MPW. Matches take place each week with a 15 minute time limit.
Tag Team Titles - Exactly what it says on the tin. Minimum 2 people fighting another team or 2 or more people.
What's the look and feel of the company?
In terms of kayfabe, the company is based in London and all events currently take place in and around the city. Venues will typically hold anything between 1000 and 2500 fans and are aired via an online streaming service after the event has taken place.
Anything else I need to know?
With quick results and (predominantly) weekly events the goal is to keep things moving at pace, ensure people stay interested and prevent anyone from getting burnt out. There are great feds out there that will have much more detailed match writing and unquestionably ones with far superior graphics. This won't be that kind of place, and possibly won't be your 'first home' either. All you need to do here is be active in some capacity, even if you're not ‘on it’ week in week out. At the end of the day we don’t take this game too seriously and neither should you. Just turn up and enjoy the ride.
